Q.What are the terms usually associated with hair extensions?

A. Weaves, integration system, full weave system, units, hair replacement, lace fronts, interlocking, seamless, tracks, hair additions, braids, the list can go on to include virtually all the services we offer. back to top

  Q.What are hair extensions/weaves?

A. Hair extensions are any external hair bearing device that is added to existing hair or scalp to give the appearance of a natural (and undetectable as possible) fuller/longer head of hair. Devices may consist of human hair, synthetic fiber or a combination of both. The hair is generally dyed to match your own hair. There are many variations of hair systems and extension attachment techniques which can make a difference in how you can look and how undetectable the hair extension can be. back to top

Q.How long do hair extensions last?

A. It depends on how fast your own hair grows as well as the method you choose. The average time is from 6 weeks to 3 months and longer. However, touch-ups are required. back to top

  Q.Will they damage my hair?

A.When hair additions/extensions are applied properly and cared for properly, they will not damage your hair. It is important that you schedule touch ups and maintenance appointments. back to top

  Q.What about activities?

A. All techniques that are offered-fusion, units/systems/lace fronts, when applied properly can be worn during swimming or on humid days. Even the traditional weave method, or seamless should be fine as long as they are attached properly. back to top

Q.How often will I need to purchase a new hair system/or hair for extensions?

A. Several factors play a key role- including shedding of the hair extensions, fading of hair in sunlight, and general deterioration of the hair piece/track as a whole. How often depends on the sturdiness of the base. If you get the best quality, your hair can last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on how well you maintain your hair. back to top

  Q. How often will I need to purchase new hair for braids and twists services?

A. Generally speaking each time you receive the service, new hair is used. back to top

Q.Synthetic hair vs. human hair?

A. This is a subject of debate and each company seems to have their own opinion. Generally, the color in human hair fades faster, however human hair typically has the best look and feel. Synthetic hair tend to be more durable. back to top

Q.Will people know I'm wearing hair extensions?

A. If you go to a highly trained and qualified stylist, they can provide you with virtually undetectable extensions. Depending on the style you choose, people who knew you before might recognize that your appearance has changed. You may also be surprised how many people think you either lost weight, or made some other change. Usually people feel more comfortable about their appearance and more confident. back to top
